“Seven-Thousandths of…
“Seven-Thousandths of…” explores the everlasting effects of human development and expansion. This work was made not to blame anyone for our planet's current condition, but instead to recognize the past and present effects of such developmental activity. The inclusion of both abandoned resources and new expansions is crucial in portraying the suffocating feeling of overdevelopment. By understanding both what has happened and how these non-eco-friendly progressions truly affect our environment, we may more clearly acknowledge the coexistence necessary to thrive in the future.
Throughout the supposed 4.5 billion years that Earth has existed, humans have only occupied it for .007% of that time. Despite having been here for such little time, we have caused irreparable damage, many of which have left the planet forever scarred. Through the use of both scale and light, I hope to exemplify the relationship between humans and our planet.
